CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Ken's mom carried on a tradition from her mom of making the best chocolate chip cookies in the world and keeping them in a coffee can in the freezer. Here's Ken's mom/grandmothers chocolate cookie recipe.

  • 4½ Cups Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Soda
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 Cups Shortening
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 12 ounce Package Chocolate Chips
Sift Flour, Soda and Salt together.
Cream Shortening and Sugars in a mixing bowl.
Add Eggs and Vanilla.
Fold in Chocolate Chips.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in a 350º F oven.

You can eat them hot or give them a try in the freezer especially on these hot summer nights.
Thanks mom, I'll carry on the tradition.
