Thanksgiving Place Cards

Mom and dad can always use a little help getting everyone set around the Thanksgiving table. These neat looking place cards will help a lot.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Paper Card Stock
  • Ink Stamps
  • Glue or Double Back Tape
  • Ribbon
  • Corrugated Paper
  • Ink or Acrylic Paint
This project requires your imagination. You can make every card the same or make each one different. You can stand them on end or on their sides. Just be creative.
Place Cards look really nice when the decorations are layered on top of each other. Lets start out with a simple one as shown in the middle below.
Cut your paper to 3" X 4".
Fold your paper in half so it is 2" X 3".
Stamp a design on the front.
Write the persons name on it.
Add a ribbon for decoration. Now that's pretty simple.

To get fancier make your main card the way we did above.
Now cut a piece of corrugated paper or colored paper just a little bit smaller than the front of your card. Leave enough room to write the persons name.
Glue that piece on the front.
On another piece of paper stamp a pattern like a leaf.
Cut the leaf out and glue it on top of the last piece of paper.
You can add a ribbon or just leave it as is.
Write the persons name on it and you have another beautiful place card.

To make them even more interesting you can write a note or a poem inside each one. If you have some small school pictures you can put those on the inside. These make a great surprise for the grandparents.
Have fun with this project and you'll be surprised at how happy it makes all the people. Have a great Thanksgiving.
